Cleaning for Flooring

Cleaning for Flooring

When using a mortar or cement bed for grouting, it is important that the surface of the stones is cleaned whilst being laid. The mortar must be allowed to dry on the surface. Any surplus mortar should be cleaned off promptly with a sponge or rag and clean water. The water should be changed frequently.

When the floor is free of mortar and the joints and setting bed thoroughly dried, final cleaning can be carried out.

A 10% solution of hydrochloric acid and water can be used but extreme care should be taken against bodily injury as well as damage to other materials in the area. After scrubbing, the solution should be thoroughly washed off with clean water. We suggest that the cubes be laid in river sand only.

For more information regarding cleaning, please request for our leaflet (reference number 662).
